Itinerary and highlights

This exciting tour will start with a pick up from your hotel in Marsa Alam at 5 am in an air conditioned vehicle, then begins the 4-5 hour journey towards Luxor.

Upon arrival in Luxor around 9:30 am, meet your guide for the tour and head to the first stop of the day, Karnak Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Listed site. Once within the walls you will marvel at the dimensions of the courtyards and halls of this, the world’s largest religious complex. Wander around this fascinating location with your guide and learn about the many generations of pharaohs that once were here. Excavation of this temple only began in the 19th century and it is still ongoing

Enjoy a tasty lunch served in a local restaurant with views across the famous River Nile (beverages are not included). Then travel to the Valley of the Kings, the final resting place of Egypt’s rulers from the 18th to 20th dynasty. With your expert guide, learn about the rulers who are entombed here such as the Great Pharaoh Ramses II and Pharaoh Tutankhamun. Your tour guide will explain everything from outside as no guiding inside the tombs, then explore the best 3 selected tombs from the open ones.

Continue to Hatshepsut Temple, one of the most beautiful and well-preserved temples of Ancient Egypt. Listen to her interesting story from your Egyptology guide and know how she managed to rule the country for 22 years as a sole Pharaoh. Next, visit the iconic Colossi of Memnon, 2 massive stone statues that once depicted King Amenhotep III. Marvel at these fascinating sculptures and listen to incredible stories about the rulers and times through which they have lasted.

Finally, sail aboard a traditional felucca boat, for one hour cruise along the Nile — the perfect way to end your day.

At the end of the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Marsa Alam .
